Fire
In July 2006 our client's original mountain home was destroyed by the Big Creek forest fire.
Demolition
We demolished what little was left of his home and hauled it to a landfill.
Excavation

Our excavation team precisely carved a foundation from the cleared land.

 
Phoenix Castle
Our client named the new house "Phoenix Castle" after the mythological bird that rose from the ashes and the truism that every man's home is his castle.
Concrete Work
Soon we poured concrete footings for his new home.
Winter Construction

Our framing crew worked tirelessly throughout the winter.

 
Garage
Next we built the garage so we could use it as a temperture controlled and dust free environment for finishing trim.
Bitter Cold
Despite bitter cold and deep mountain snow our carpenters made steady progress.
Tile Roof

Fireproof, durable and beautiful Vande Hey Raleigh roofing tiles were used to cover the house, garage and greenhouse.

 
Doors
Exterior wood doors are stained and clear coated in the new garage paint studio.
Siding
We installed fireproof Nichiha quarried marble siding on the house and outbuildings.
Tile Mural

Tile murals depicting mythological scenes were used in every bathroom.

 
Wood Floor
Beautiful diamonds were hand crafted from seven species of wood into the living room floor.
Tile Floor
A classically inspired diamond pattern was used for many tile floors.
Trim

Neo-classical trim adorns the second story window and chimney.

 
Plumbing
Our plumbers created a sophisticated manifold plumbing system for this fine house.
Fir Floor
An vertical grain fir floor sits over concrete in the basement workshop.
Trim

Gravel walkways modeled after a New England town green adorn the front yard.

 
Doors
Raised molding doors display beautiful shadow lines in the ever changing pure mountain sunlight.
Decking
The decks are tiled over a fiberglass grate that allows water to easily drain away.
Slatwall Closet

The closets employ commercial slatwall which provides easy shelf installation and adjustment.

 
Cedar
Aromatic cedar ceilings line most of the closets preventing moths and lending a pleasent smell to the clothes stored within.
Gardens
The driveway retaining wall contains 97 tiered garden beds.
Lighting

Classically inspired lighting is wired to a state of the art, Insteon programmable and remote controllable, electrical system.

 
Greenhouse
The greenhouse is nearing completion on the outside.
Athena
A marble statue of Athena is framed by marble railings on the library balcony.
